| We should be moving fabric into the new addition this week. The store will remain open, but a little out of place.... kind of like HEB has been... LOL It will take us a bit to get all the new fabrics moved in from the classroom, but we will get there! Next Saturday is Wimberley Market Days (first one since Covid). If you come to the Studio, you can go over and check out the Market Days booths if you so desire. Free Market Days parking in our lot with a Stitch Studio purchase. |

| Have you seen the Strip Stick ? You lay your block, wrong side up to press your seams open. It makes them lay absolutely flat and you don't have to fight to push them open as you're pressing. |

Precuts may be the answer when you don’t have much time to make a quilt for a special baby or you just want to spend a soothing hour watching beautiful fabrics slide beneath your fingers. “For many people, cutting is their least favorite part of a project. It takes time and you have to think about using your fabric wisely and not wasting it,” Michelle says. “With precuts it’s instant gratification. You can just get started.” |
Using precut pieces for a project gives you an assortment of fabrics that have been curated by a designer to create a scrappy, but coordinated look. It might surprise contemporary quilters to know that the first time manufacturers offered these ready-to-sew pieces was in October 2006, when Moda Fabrics introduced Jelly Rolls—bundles of 42 fabrics cut into 2-1/2"-wide strips—at International Quilt Market. Lissa Alexander, Moda’s director of marketing, says that while some individuals, including designers Daniela Stout and Debbie Caffrey, had been creating and using strips, Moda was the first fabric company to mass-produce them. “One person said ‘jelly’ and another said ‘rolls’ and that’s how the name was born,” Lissa says. |
  We love our Mister Perfect Misting Spray Bottles! You can spray a fine mist for pressing instead of globs of water. Now... IronEZ has created the greatest holder so it won't fall off your ironing board or sewing table. As soon as we tried it, I knew I wanted to carry them. It comes with a cute Mister Perfect, too! If you've been in since COVID, you know we have put alcohol-based sanitizer in our Mister Perfect and we heard of a lady using it with Apple Cider Vinegar for basting meat! Wow...the uses are endless! I'm getting a second clamp-on IronEZ to put my drink in by my machine. No spills! |
| Classes! I know so many of us have been ready to take classes again. As soon as we have the classroom clear after the addition move, we will get it set up and send out a schedule. We will be limiting our class size to 4, requiring masks and sanitizer. Tables will be set apart for social distance, but allow us to still have fun together learning new techniques. The first classes on the schedule should be: Beginner Sewing Projects Beginner Quilt Sampler Dresden Tie Blocks Raw-Edge Applique Fabric Collage If there are other projects you're anxious to learn, please reply to this email and let us know. |
